Resetting the overworld MAY only give us mangrove swamps, deep dark (and possibly ancient cities), but nothing else. There is no guarantee any of these 1.19 biomes will actually be in the new overworld if it is reset/regenerated.

New mobs spawn in appropriate biomes. Frogs spawn in swamps even though that overworld was not reset because the overworld is the current version (1.19.x) but simply was not reset and regenerated. Camels will spawn in desert villages. Sniffers will spawn where sniffers are supposed to spawn. No overworld reset is needed for that because when the server moves to 1.20, the overworld will be 1.20.

As far as I know, 1.20 doesn't introduce any new biomes, and we've managed with having mangrove swamp and deep dark biomes (and ancient cities) in mining just fine. So what do we gain from resetting the overworld except to remove existing builds and claims?

I'm with Duh on this. There isn't enough of a change in the new updates to justify a complete reset of the main world. We can get what we need from mining easily.

Aside from all that, we would probably lose players, too. I'm sure there are people who wouldn't want to restart and would simply leave the server altogether.

I think the overworld is fine as it is. The only reason I might want a reset would be to get rid of old, unused claims, but even if we did reset the world there would be more claims that are made, and shortly after abandoned, as the server went on. The problem would just repeat itself over time.

Overall, I'd say it's pretty clear the negatives outweigh the positives. Thanks anyway for the suggestion, gen!

I also think its best if we don't lose what we've been working on for years and what we come back to MCG for xD
