A few Creative Rush suggestions

You can also read this suggestion in color if you're bored like me, and you don't like to read whole paragraphs when you cannot tell what is important.

First things first: Creative Rush came out of beta 1 year ago today, so GG.

Currently: Creative Rush is counted under both a UHC Leaderboard and Grading stats despite not being a UHC game(it basically only has regeneration off, that doesn't make it a UHC) , having more overpowered items than are allowed in one, and spawning in items.

Speaking of spawning in items, Minecraft has a built-in prevention for autoclicking and spamming items to be dropped when in Creative Mode. Basically it makes it so that at any random time your item could not drop for a random amount of time, sometimes being 1 second and sometimes being up to 5 seconds. This allows for players to not be able to get every item because of the game itself.

Then players just leave, which makes sense because why would you wait 4 minutes just to lose and give someone else points they don’t really deserve? Or, you can get 4-tapped(that’s obviously an exaggeration, although sometimes it’s more and sometimes it’s less because it’s rng) by a guy with Sharpness 5 + Strength 2, which isn't exactly a fair or enjoyable way to have to lose anyway.

The suggestions:

1a: It's NOT a UHC Gamemode, so we should stop calling it that.

1b: You could make a board for Creative Rush as well as some other non-UHC Games, like Survival Games, and call it "Miscellaneous" or something like that. See More Win Boards suggestion for more discussion about leaderboards stuff. Make sure to vote and comment!

2: It doesn’t make sense that Creative Rush would count toward PvP points when Meetup and Red vs. Blue don’t, so it also should not have points attached to it. Why the comparison? In all three games you spawn in with or to get items, and therefore isn’t an actual game worthy of PvP points.

This isn’t a suggestion, really, more of an off-topic thing: While I am here I may as well talk about tier 2 potions being in the game, at all. They kind of take from the game, instead of making it more enjoyable, by making fights just be about the first person to get a combo. I guess you can say the same sort of thing about the no pearl cooldown and withers though, so eh. It wouldn’t really matter if the game was treated like a minigame like Meetup is.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, overall the point is that Creative Rush is not a UHC, and isn’t even really a balanced game like most of the others on the server anyway.

And while you're on the suggestions, feel free to look at some others, like OhHue's Explosive Arrows Scenario or PoofessorP's Varied Match Length suggestion.

Thanks for reading,

When making suggestions on the website, please make separate suggestion for each suggestion. I really don't like this kind of suggestion called "A few suggestions": no, make separate suggestions and give a title that briefly states what the suggestion is about.

"1a: It's NOT a UHC Gamemode, so we should stop calling it that."

It is a UHC game mode. It meets all the requirements for being a UHC:

  • Hard difficulty
  • One life only/you cannot respawn
  • You can only heal with golden apples/potions (no natural regeneration)

I am unsure why it is important for you to not call it UHC while it is UHC. Meetup and Red vs Blue are also UHC game modes, but they are being excluded from the PvP points (UHC game modes) leaderboard. I can understand why you don't want it to be included into the PvP points (UHC game modes) leaderboard, and while it can be definitely be excluded, the reason it's not excluded from that leaderboard is because unlike Meetup and Red vs Blue, Creative Rush requires you to get the items somehow, craft, and there is a 4 minutes 30 seconds of game similar to what you experience in Flower Power or Randomizer UHC: you sort out the items you have, enchant, etc. Meetup and Red vs Blue go straight to a deathmatch and you have already a specific set of weapons, tools and armour.

Also please keep this suggestions website to suggestions only.

Why not make two separate suggestions? I could make multiple, but there’s not really a point when they would still all get downvoted like I said in the Discord. It’s better to have one place to comment about the whole thing. I could have, and probably should have, put the top part in the comments but I am lazy. I would have also liked an Off-Topic page to talk about this before, anyway, but I did what I could. Also, it's not likely most players will read it as long as they know what the main suggestion is anyway.

It’s barely a UHC when most times you don’t have to worry about the environment or ability to regenerate health at a normal rate. In fights, you aren’t really able to heal very effectively anyway when you take damage faster than you can heal(because of potion effects). You could also argue that you are able to heal faster than normal in Creative Rush because you have access to potions and a nearly infinite supply of golden apples. There also isn’t really a need for mining in Creative Rush, but I wouldn’t count that as a reason it’s not a UHC because lots of games don’t require it.

If you don’t have all your armor setup before Meetup it is likely because you are new to the game or you are late scattered, which would be your own decision. You also get access to more overpowered items in Creative Rush faster than you would from Meetup or Red vs. Blue. The game is also, usually, under ten minutes so I wouldn’t compare it to other games that are three to four times as long when they require more effort and thought process than Creative Rush.

| Meetup and Red vs Blue go straight to a deathmatch and you have already a specific set of weapons, tools and armour.

  • People also have a specific set of items that they try to get every game, so I don’t see how this relates. Maybe I’m reading it wrong.

Making a short a concise point about one suggestion in just one thread is important to let others understand. Moreover, if someone is okay with one of your suggestions but not with the other, they may just end up downvoting anyway.

This is the place to discuss, then people can change their vote anyway. Moreover, not everyone has said their opinion on this.

You said: "It’s barely a UHC when most times you don’t have to worry about the environment or ability to regenerate health at a normal rate"

You don't have to worry about the environment or ability to regenerate health at a normal rate in Flower Power or God UHC either... so we stop calling them UHC just because of that? Moreover, how many players manage to get potions in time in Creative Rush? Most of players don't even manage to get the stuff for enchanting!

You said: "The game is also, usually, under ten minutes so I wouldn’t compare it to other games that are three to four times as long when they require more effort and thought process than Creative Rush."

This is a valid point in favour of excluding the game mode from the "PvP points - UHC game modes" leaderboard. Stopping calling it "UHC" is not something that will happen because it is UHC.

"People also have a specific set of items that they try to get every game, so I don’t see how this relates."

Exactly, you try to get them, and not only in Creative Rush but in other game modes too, especially Flower Power. It's not 100% given that you will have those items, while in meetup/rvb the game directly gives you the kit you will have to use, and you go straight to deathmatch, while this is not happening in Creative Rush.
